RSE Checklist


  • Driver installed for the camera
  • Camera is licensed - needs a code in the system.cfg file
  • Check frames are grabbed in 640x480 use IC Control


  • Bluetooth server physically configured for network - note the ip address
  • Install and configure the virtual com port software
  • use the wizard to install the first com port e.g. com2



  • Install the FIRA simulator (this installs the c:\strategy\blue
  • Install DirectX 9.0c runtime or above
  • Install the Robot Soccer Engine


  • Run the robot soccer engine
  • Setup the video to grab frames
  • Ensure there is a good view of the whole pitch which is a large as possible
  • Select the corner of the pitch
  • Cofigure the bluetooth ports from within the RSE engine
  • press the test button Check that there is good communication with each robot


  • Print out lids and attach to robots
  • Print out a large blob of each colour to be setup
  • configure hue values in vision system to recognise each blob
  • Configure vision to recognise robots at ~90% (do this one robot at a time)
  • Set system.cfg to use the ballchaser strategy (default)
  • Start the game and ensure ballchaser is working (use the left mouse click to simulate ball position check coverage over the entire area
  • advanced config - remove all objects from the pitch to perform adaptive grey test (Store an image as a reference)
  • advanced config - spherical aberration adjustments
