Bluetooth serial interface to java on mobile phone.

we have many many devices in Industry which talk rs232 serial links using Modbus protocol. I have hunted the web to find a simple but effective solution to run on basic mobile phones that support java and bluetooth. The idea would be to use mobiel phone connected over bluetooth to a logger or industrial control device. The screen would be configurable but show a small number of digital and analogue ports status. Tank level, valve condition, motor state, etc. Display would be very simplistic but configurable and save/loadable for different sites. Maybe a mini-real-time trend of the analogues. Java app must be small and very general to run on many different phones. Why phones? cos everyone has one rather than PDAs. This is a wish for a baby-blue-SCADA package. Cev cvibert@silchester.co.uk
